Army Bay is a popular spot for a day at the beach or launching boats. Visit the nearby Shakespear Regional Park or Waterfall Gully. There is a small grassed area, popular for picnics. If you go out for a swim, make sure you stay within your limits, and keep young children within arm's reach.Steer clear of the boat ramp, and any vessels or craft in the water. If you're planning on heading out on a boat, sail craft, or paddle craft, make sure you check the conditions and take all the right gear. Also, as Army Bay is near the Whangaparaoa Military Training area, make sure you check the information signage adjacent to the boat ramp and ensure you steer clear of any identified areas.
