Beach Info
After rain the water quality in the lagoon is often poor so swimming here is not advised.
The lagoon at Bethells beach changes with each tide and rainfall in the surrounding hills. Often it can contain submerged debris. Murky shallow water and soft sand and mud. Hot sand on the access track can burn your feet and those of your dog. Take care and wear footwear until you get to the wet sand. The lagoon can be deep in the middle and contain submerged rocks. Keep children at arm's length as there is a steep drop from the path at high tide into the lagoon. There are small caves closer to the beach that are fun to explore by crossing the lagoon. Typically the lagoon has minimal water flow but it can be strong after rain.
