Blockhouse Bay

Blockhouse Bay is a great spot to head for a picnic or a swim with family and friends over summer. It has good facilities and a large playground. The beach drops away steeply at high tide and the water may be deeper than expected, so make sure you keep within arm's reach of young children. As the tide goes out there may be currents, and these become stronger beyond the shelter of the bay. There are sharp shells at the site, so jandals, reef shoes, or other appropriate footwear are recommended if you plan on walking on the beach.
