Beach Info
Chapman Strand is located at the northern end of the Te Atatu Peninsula. Take a walk along the Te Atatu Walkway, go out for a paddle or a swim off the beach, or just take a picnic and relax. Be aware that the tidal flats in front of Chapman Strand are exposed at low tide, so if you want to enter the water, check the tide and plan your visit for high tide. The site is also home to the Taikata Sailing Club, and there is a boat ramp for those launching motorised vessels or other craft. If you’re launching your boat or going for a paddle, wear a lifejacket, check the conditions, and take the right gear.
