Beach Info
Huia Beach is a great spot for a picnic and swim with family and friends with fantastic views of the Āwhitu Peninsula. Beware near the stream mouth at high tide, as the water may become deep quickly and there may be strong currents. Keep an eye out for rocks in the water, stay within your limits, and remain within arm's reach of young children. There can be little to no beach at high tide, but the tide recedes to the edge of the bay at low tide.
A short distance away from Huia Beach is Watercare's Lower Huia Dam. This Dam has a capacity 6.4 gigalitres!
