Beach Info
Island Bay is located on the northeastern shore of the Waitematā Harbour. There is a wharf and boat ramp, as well as a small area of reserve with a playground for the kids. The water level beneath the wharf fluctuates and may be shallow, therefore, jumping is not recommended. Take care if heading in for a swim, and keep within arm’s reach of young children. If you’re launching your boat or going for a paddle, wear a lifejacket, check the conditions, and take the right gear.
