Beach Info
Karaka Bay is home to the Hillary Outdoors Education Centre and is a small sheltered rocky bay with a jetty. A small sandy beach to the left is made up of mostly brown rock sand with a small stream in the centre of the beach. Parking at beachfront is available but limited.
Kaka with their unmistakable chatter are plentiful in the trees around the bay. A sandy boat ramp provides access for launching small boats. The bay is a great place for kayaking, coasteering, and SUP. There is plenty of grassed area for picnics but no public facilities.
