Beach Info
Mairangi Bay is a great spot for a wide range of activities, particularly a swim on a warm summer day. If the red and yellow flags are up, it means surf lifeguards are on patrol, so please swim between the flags and stay within arm’s reach of young children. If you're planning on taking paddle or sail craft out, make sure you check the conditions first, especially the wind as it may be stronger than it first seems and offshore. Ensure you wear a correctly fitted lifejacket and take all of the right gear. Be aware of strong currents near the stream, especially during outgoing tide.
At low tide, enjoy the coastal walkway between Murrays and Mairangi Bays, alternatively there is a path along the cliff.
