Matakatia Bay is a great spot for a walk along the beach at low tide or a swim. If you do enter the water, beware of currents as the tide goes out, and always keep young children within arm's reach If you're heading out on a boat, make sure you operate safely and ensure you wear correctly fitted lifejackets.
