Milford South

Milford South is a long, sandy beach, perfect for a beach day.

However, this beach is not patrolled by surf lifeguards, so you need to stay within your limits and keep young children within arm's reach. If you're not a competent swimmer, swim between the red and yellow flags at Takapuna Beach or Mairangi Bay: they're just down the road and are patrolled by surf lifeguards. If taking paddle or sail craft out, make sure you check the conditions first, especially the wind as it may be stronger than it first seems. Also, ensure you wear and take all of the right gear.
