Beach Info
Oakura township is a beach community as is evident when visiting the beach. The beach and surrounding area is carefully looked after and groomed. There is ample car parking and very good facilities. Oakura Beach is one of the most popular beaches for swimming and surfing and there will usually be people in the water. Some large events are held at the beach that attract big crowds. The New Plymouth Old Boys Surf Life Saving Club patrol weekends and public holidays from Labour Weekend till Easter and there are professional Lifeguards at the beach during the summer holidays.
