Omanu Beach

Omanu Beach is beautiful white sand beach backed by a narrow grass and sand dune reserve. Behind this is a very well established residential area. The local community combined with visitors to the area makes this beach very active during the summer months. Swimmers are safe during low wave energy days but large holes and rips will be present in swells over a metre. Beach conditions will also change a great deal between high and low tide. Swimmers are advised to stay in the patrolled area. Omanu Beach has a Lifeguarding service over weekends in the summer. Professional Lifeguards operate for six weeks during primary school holidays.
