Beach Info
Ōmaru is in the Tāmaki River and is a great spot to visit with family and friends for a picnic. Take a ball and make the most of the many sports fields behind the beach or head in for a swim. Just ensure young children always remain within arm's reach. Be aware of currents, stay within your limits, and swim with a friend. Alternatively, enjoy the Tāmaki Path which is a shared path along the edge of the Tāmaki River, ending at Wai-O-Taiki Nature Reserve.
