Beach Info
Russell foreshore is a sheltered beach popular for swimming and kayaking in the popular tourist town of Russell. It is a heavy boating area, with a busy commercial wharf in the centre of the bay and a public boat ramp at the northern end. Beach users should aware of boat activity when swimming or paddling in the area. If you’re launching your boat or going for a paddle, wear a lifejacket, check the conditions, and take the right gear (www.adventuresmart.org.nz).
