Beach Info
Sentinel Road Beach is a secluded beach located on the southern side of the Waitematā Harbour in Herne Bay. It can be accessed via Sentinel Road. Parking is very limited in the streets near Sentinel Road Beach. The beach is backed by a seawall, a concrete pathway, and a beautiful stand of Pohutukawa trees, which are great for shade in the summer months. The beach is fronted by a tidal flat that is exposed at low tide, so if you plan to go for a swim, it is best to go when the tide is higher. Always keep young children within arm's reach, stay within your limits, and never swim alone.
