Beach Info
Taumanu Reserve has recently been upgraded and is a great spot for a picnic or swim over the summer or a walk at any time of the year. The water becomes deep quickly at high tide, so ensure you keep within arm's reach of young children. Sharp oyster beds become exposed at low tide, so take care; reef shoes may be handy. Winds can be strong here when the weather comes from the west. Kite surfing, kite flying, and fishing are not permitted due to the overhead powerlines.
