Taylors Mistake

Taylors Mistake is a popular beach for most recreational activities, especially in the summer for swimming and for surfing year-round. There is also the opportunity for good fishing off the rocky headlands. There are some facilities, but no camping ground or motel accommodation. The beach suburb of Sumner 5km northwest has these facilities. Volunteer Surf Lifeguards patrol this beach in the weekends over summer, and Professional Guards patrol during the week over the school summer break. There are consistent rip currents to be aware of.
