Beach Info
Waiake Beach is a popular location for a day at the beach complete with BBQ's. Enjoy the large grassed areas, playground or Aickin Reserve across Beach Road complete with public exercise equipment. Waiake Beach is popular with boaties, SUP's, yachts and swimmers alike. However, this beach is not patrolled by surf lifeguards, so you need to stay within your limits and keep young children within arm's reach. If you're not a competent swimmer, swim between the red and yellow flags at Long Bay; it's just down the road and is patrolled by surf lifeguards when the red and yellow flags are up. If taking paddle or sail craft out, make sure you check the conditions first, especially the wind as it may be stronger than it first seems, and ensure you take all of the right gear.
