Beach Info
Waikowhai Bay is a good spot to go for a walk over summer. Take the path from the car park to the beach and explore the site. Enjoy views to Ambury Regional Park and Māngere Mountain. Take care if you go in for a swim as there are shallow sand bars, and oyster beds become exposed at low tide. Be aware of strong currents as the tide goes out, and stay within your limits. Don't walk beneath the cliffs, as they are unstable and rocks or trees may fall. Keep within arm's reach of young children, and never use the water alone: it's safer and more fun to go with a friend.
