Beach Info
Waitarere Beach is home to Levin/Waitarere Surf Life Saving Club and the beach is located 15 kilometres north of the town of Levin. Levin/Waitarere Surf Life Saving Club provide a volunteer service during weekends over the summer and professional lifeguards over the primary school holidays. Waitarere Beach has very large sand dunes that separate the beach from the small amount of residential holiday homes at the beach. The beach slopes gently into the ocean and has the same characteristics as most of the other beaches in this area. Waitarere Beach remains safe in surf under one metre, but can become dangerous in larger swells. Patrons should swim between the flags and ask Lifeguards for any advice about the beach.
